What is a Buddy Walk?
The Buddy Walk® provides a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and engage participants in advocacy efforts. It is also our largest fundraiser for Down Syndrome Advocates in Action Nebraska. Please join us on March 14th at Gateway Mall  in Lincoln (more details will be posted soon).

What are some ways to fundraise?
We encourage teams to fundraise leading up to the event. You can ask your company or a company you frequent to sponsor the event. Any corporate sponsor dollars that you or your family bring in will be credited to your team. You can host a 3rd Party fundraiser, which can include anything from a restaurant give-back night to a mini-festival to a dinner party...the possibilities are endless! We truly appreciate your fundraising efforts, and we are here to help! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance.

What does the money raised help support?
As the largest DSAA fundraising events of the year, the Buddy Walks provides the resources needed for DSAA to fulfill its mission throughout the year. With your help, we can continue to provide support, resources, outreach, and programming to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. The Buddy Walk funds our Medical Outreach program, Extended Hospital Stay Bags, Scholarships to learning opportunities, IEP support for families, networking events, events with community partners like Husker Heroes and the ARC of Nebraska Senatorial Dinner, and other activities with local ARC organizations.

Where can I get a Buddy Walk T-Shirt
Walk t-shirts should come in the week before the walk.  We are hoping to have a pick up day at the office on either March 13th or 14th.  Or we can arrange for you to pick them up at Deb's house around that time.
You must order your shirt  by the t-shirt deadline on February 21st at noon  to guarantee a Buddy Walk t-shirt.
All shirts not picked up prior to the walk will be available the day of the walk at the registration tables

What can I expect at the Buddy Walk?
The Buddy Walk is a special day for everyone!  In Lincoln we will be walking inside Gateway Mall where the weather is always perfect. We will have activities for the kids, snacks, raffle prizes and more.   It is your day, so walk your way!  You can walk laps of the mall or shop and walk at the same time.  Those who walk wearing a Rock your Socks Buddy Walk t-shirt can earn raffle tickets for walking more than 5 laps.  Earn one ticket for each lap walked over 5 laps.   For those wishing a quieter walk experience, you might want to come early to before the stores are open.  The event is an open house where you can drop in and stay for a bit or stay until the end when we draw raffle prize winners.  We will start drawing raffle prizes at 11:45 and you do not need to be present to win.

We Would Love to Hear from you!
