Building Blocks of Communication

      We have secured up to 10 Zoom slots for parents and children* 12 months to pre-K & their parent(s) to work with a speech-language supervisor from Barkley Speech Language and Hearing Clinic at UNL. Each session will last 45 minutes 1x/wk for 8 weeks.  

    There will be predetermined strategies that will be covered each day. These strategies will focus on increasing communication (verbal and other modalities and will be tailored to each family as the clinician sees fit and based on family preferences. A single strategy will be covered in each session, for a total of 6 different strategies that may be used independently or in conjunction with the other learned strategies. At the end of the semester, the families will be provided with a resource with information regarding all of the strategies that were targeted during the semester.
    *Your child must be present during all therapy sessions, but the focus will be on training the parent(s) to facilitate and provide the strategies with their child.

    We will be accepting up to 10 families with this opportunity.
    Flexible Start Dates starting in June ( someone will call you to work out the best time for your family)
    Duration: 6-8 weeks  
    Session duration: 45 minutes 1x/week  
    Age range: 12 months to pre-kindergarten
    Cost per family: $40 total*
    The total cost is $240 for the whole semester 
    DSAA will cover the other $200
    Slot Times available will be worked out by Barkley and the family.  Times available will be between 10am and 4 pm. :
     
    Slot times will be reserved on a first come first served basis.
