Learning that your child has Down syndrome can be quite a shock for parents. Whether the diagnosis is prenatal (before birth) or postnatal (after birth), the news is often overwhelming. Many parents report feeling blindsided, confused or isolated. You are not alone in your feelings or on the journey that lies ahead of you.  DSAA Nebraska is here for you and can provide accurate, up-to-date information, and also the opportunity to speak with a parent mentor through our 321 Parent to Parent Program. Prenatal Diagnosis

Prenatal testing gives parents the opportunity to learn about a Down syndrome earlier than ever before.  This gives you plenty of time to find become well educated about the condition, before your new bundle of joy arrives.  

Postnatal Diagnosis

 Congratulations on the birth of your child!  Your baby is a baby first, so enjoy getting to know your new family member.  We have experience and resources to help make this transition time easier for you and your family.
