We would like to officially welcome everyone and kick off the Nebraska Virtual Buddy Walk  It is time to strap on your pedometers or put your phones in your pockets and start walking along with our theme of National Beach Day. Wear a Hawaiian shirt, put flowers in your hair, anything to get you in the celebratory spirit.

Then take some photos of yourself while walking and post them on social medial  Tag Down Syndrome Advocates in Action, or the Nebraska Virtual Buddy Walk in the photos or use # buddywalknebraska or #BWNE2020 for a chance to win our Beach Prize bucket.

At the end of the day fill out this form with how many steps you took for a chance to be crowned the high stepper for the day.  The high stepper will get their choice of prize from our prize group that includes, a day pass to the zoo or SAC Museum, restaurant gift cards, Down syndrome Awareness merchandise, Peanut Butter Falcon DVDs, or Bowling coupons.

If you are celebrating near Lincoln, you can drive by 6425 Taylor Park Drive and pick up a free beach ball today while supplies last.  While you are there, pick a couple rocks off the patio wall to the East of the house to hide on Tuesday for National No Rhyme Nor Reason Day.  There may still be a pedometers out on the porch too, if you still need a way to track your steps. Plan to come back by on Wednesday between 4:30 and 5:30 to get a Popsicle on National Popsicle Day.
If you are in or near Kearney, the plan is to hand out all daily prizes at the end of the week.  Be looking in the DSAA Kearney Facebook group for details about the date and time on this event.

nks for sdcharing the article, and more importantly, your personal exp erience mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
